SHUSHO-E(the New Year Puja)

SHUSHO-E(the New Year Puja)
Shusho-e is a Buddhist ceremony held during the New Year.
It is an occasion to reflect on the past year, make the year resolutions, and pray for the world peace and an abundant harvest etc… Let us begin the New Year with pure hearts, and pray together for the happiness of all. At the SHUSHO-E, will also hold FUSATSU.
Fusatsu (Uposatha) is an important ritual for self-reflection that has been practiced on the nights of the full and new moons since the earliest days of Buddhism.
In this ritual, based on the Japanese Mahayana ordination ceremony, we offer prostrations, reflect on ourselves, and take refuge in the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
We then recite the Mahayana precepts (Sila: “Good habits”) — the Threefold Pure Precepts (Trividhani Silani) and the Ten Good Precepts (Dasa Sila).
Through this practice, we reflect on ourselves and renew our commitment to living mindfully and simply.
You can also try sutra copying(Shakyo) and Zazen (Zen meditation) .
